No Shadow For Phil! But, Plenty Of Contingencies if He Runs The Majesty Homes Groundhog Warm-Up
DARLINGTON, SC-- Darlington International Dragway's personal Groundhog predicted the start of a hot racing season and his guess is that it will start in twelve days. Several doorslammer oriented entities waited patiently for the prognostication and promptly stepped up to the proverbial table and offered many fruits for those that labor successfully at the third annual Majesty Homes Groundhog Warm-Up .
A well respected group of engine builders and a clutch manufacturer have offered contingency winnings to any driver that wins their respective class and utilizes their products. Five companies have offered a total of $3,600 in contingencies to any racers that may win and use their product.
The companies of Ram Clutches and Sonny's Automotive have agreed to reward any product-using racer in both the Pro Stock or Pro Modified division. Sonny's has offered to pay any racer $400 to win and $200 to runner-up in either division. Ram stepped up with a $200 prize to win and $100 for a runner-up. Top name engine builders Eagle Racing Engines, Fulton Competition and Charlie Buck Racing Engines have pinpointed their resources to the Pro Modified division, where the majority of their customers compete at. The trio are respectively offering $400 to win and $200 to runner-up.
"For these guys to help us out with our race should say a lot about their dedication to their customers," explained track GM David Johnson. "It is our sincere desire that each one of these companies get the maximum exposure out of their involvement with this event. We should all thank these guys for their unselfish support of our sport."
The Majesty Homes Groundhog Warm-Up will feature unlimited testing runs on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 17-20. Drivers are given free testing under the stipulation that they compete in an open race on Saturday. There will be a 16 car field for both the Pro Modifieds and Pro Stocks. Qualifying for the race will begin with sessions on Saturday at 10 AM and at Noon. Eliminations are scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM
