GRAND BEND, ONT. - Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley rider Johnny Mancuso came up short at the finals of the Mopar Parts Canadian Nationals presented by Castrol at the Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario. Mancuso was defeated by Jay Turner in the final when the former champion was forced to lift, giving the win to Turner, who went on to run a 6.688/179.03. Mancuso encountered parts breakage and coasted to a 7.473/146.67.

Mancuso qualified fifth with a 6.565/212.26, and took out riders Bill Furr and Allen Peterson on his way to the finals.

Mancuso explained, "We wanted to win it, but when Jay started to pull away and our bike started to have mechanical problems, I just felt it was better to lift and try and get them next time."

The Houston, TX.-native's next stop on the IHRA tour will be in Cordova, Illinois for the Amalie Oil Summer Nationals, where he will try to improve on his runner-up finish with a win.

"Cordova's going to be a challenge to us," explained Mancuso. "We would really like a win to gain momentum in the points chase, but we'll just keep hammering away like we always do. Hopefully, this time fate will look down on us and smile."
