DARLINGTON, SC - Mark McElwee gave the Pro Outlaw contingent a glimpse of things to come in 2000. The Port St. Lucie, Fla.-based driver was very impressive by reaching the semi-finals at the IHRA Prolong Winter Nationals in Darlington, SC.

McElwee was very much pleased with the team's first outing of 2000.

"We're happy with what we accomplished this weekend," explained McElwee. "Darlington was to be our baseline for the season and when you can make it to the semis in your baseline, you know you're doing well."

McElwee concluded qualifying as the third seeded entry with a 6.202/216.51.

The top ten ranked driver from 1999, pushed the Powershield Coatings-sponsored entry to a holeshot win over the radical blown altered of Michael Barclay.

In the semis, McElwee fell to eventual winner Neal Parker, who also campaigns a blown altered.

The Powershield Coatings team has a website at www.powershieldcoatings.com.
