Two-Time IHRA Top Fuel champion Clay Millican returns to Richmond
Defending champion hopes for second win at ACDelco Nationals

Chicago - Clay Millican of Team Werner Enterprises/Lehman Racing, the 2001 and 2002 IHRA Top Fuel Champion, will compete in the 2003 IHRA ACDelco Nationals in Richmond, Virginia on June 6-8 at the Virginia Motorsports Park. Millican enters the event as the defending champion and hopes for a second victory this year.

"I am really excited to be racing in Richmond again this year!" said Millican. "The fans are great and I'm really hoping to get the win light in the finals again this year."

Millican, the current IHRA Top Fuel points leader, holds the Virginia Motorsports Park records for both Top Fuel elapsed time (4.687 seconds) and speed (312.86 mph). Last year he defeated Bruce Litton in the finals for his 11th career Top Fuel victory.

Currently, Millican is undefeated in IHRA competition for 2003. He recently won the IHRA Mopar Canadian Nationals on May 30-June 1 in Grand Bend, Ontario, defeating Grant Flowers in the finals. It was the second victory of the season for Team Werner Enterprises/Lehman Racing. The team's first race of the season was the Amalie Texas Nationals in San Antonio, Texas, where Millican won the event and set a new IHRA Top Fuel record with an elapsed time of 4.591 seconds. Earlier this season, Millican also set new personal best records at the NHRA O'Reilly Spring Nationals in Houston, with an elapsed time of 4.505 and a speed of 330.23 mph.

Millican has won 22 IHRA Top Fuel finals in his career, putting him in second place on the career IHRA Top Fuel wins list. Along with this accolade, he holds a variety of other records:

- All-time consecutive Top Fuel victory record with 10 straight event wins

- All-time Top Fuel record of 30 consecutive round wins

- Most wins in a season with 11 IHRA victories in 2002

- IHRA Top Fuel record holder
