INDIANAPOLIS -- If actions speak louder than words, then Bruce Litton is gearing up for a tremendous 2004 season. The Lucas Oil-sponsored driver from Indianapolis has renewed his deal with the high-quality oil producer and added another company to his 320-plus mile per hour rolling billboard for the Hooters IHRA Drag Racing Series.
Litton has been aligned with Lucas Oil since 1997. When Litton's Wix Filters backing ended after the 2001 season, Lucas Oil Products stepped into the major sponsorship role.
"I really, really like the Lucas family," explained Litton. "I think a lot of Forrest and Charlotte Lucas and they have a great supporting cast. They are my sponsor, but they are also great friends. It makes it a lot easier to promote a product when it is of high quality and when you really believe in the people producing it."
Litton brings to the table an arsenal of associate sponsorship which includes Torco Race Fuels, Stoops Freightliner, United Trailers and Allegra Printing.
Torco Race Fuels is the newest addition to Litton's line-up.
"We are proud to be an associate from not only the racing aspect but from the family aspect of Bruce's team," explained Evan Knoll, founder of Torco Racing Fuels. "I am proud to get exposure from a great team on and off the track with Litton."
Litton's team has been busy during the off-season building new cars and buying an arsenal of parts and spares. In two weeks, Litton will officially kick off his seventh season as a Top Fuel driver.
