The first three trucks have finished the day's special and unsurprisingly the leader of the general standings, Russian Vladimir Chagin (Kamaz), has picked up another stage victory, his 3rd of the rally and the 59th in his career on the event. The "Tsar" finished this 4th special, 2'18 ahead of his team-mate and countryman Firdaus Kabirov (Kamaz) and 5'59 in front of Czech driver Alиs Loprais (Tatra).The situation stays the same in the general standings, with Chagain out in front, 8'41 ahead of Kabirov and 12'36 in front of Loprais.

Following a broken wheel bearing after 514 km of the link stage leading to the 4th special, American Robby Gordon (Hummer) was not able to reach the day's timed section, since the race officials had already closed the start point by the time his assistance team reached him. As a result, the Californian has been forced to abandon the rally.

After a nasty fall during the 3rd stage yesterday, the title holder in the quad category, Marcos Patronelli (Yamaha) has injured his knee. As a result, the Argentinean decided to withdraw from the rally at the bivouac in San Salvador de Jujuy, but is continuing the rally in the assistance team in order to follow the progress of his older brother, Alejandro (Yamaha), currently 2nd in the general standings.
