Series pre-event news

Let the party begin !

During the days leading up to the race, the Exhibition Centre at La Rural has been taken over by the Personal Dakar Argentina Chile rally

On the one hand, the atmosphere is filled with concentration, as the teams and vehicles are put through technical and administrative scrutineering. On the other hand, once they have made it through these final formalities, the drivers and riders emerge into a different world with an initial presentation to the public. Before tackling the country's roads and tracks, the Dakar Village is the first meeting point with the spectators: for the 2010 edition, almost 100,000 visitors came to share in the Dakar experience on the site.Open to the public on Thursday 30th and Friday 31st December, the Dakar Village allows every visitor to get to the heart of the matter. The rally's partners have organised events that will allow those of inquisitive nature and enthusiasts to return home with plenty of lasting memories, like, for example, those who are lucky enough to take a tour of a track onboard a Volkswagen Amarok going full throttle. Over a football pitch sized space, around 1,000 people will have the opportunity to test just how good they are at negotiating obstacles, with plenty of thrills guaranteed! On the stands of Personal, Banco Macro or in the Energy Station set up by Red Bull, the natives of Buenos Aires will also have the opportunity to meet the race favourites, who will be in attendance for photo opportunities and to sign autographs. Their advice will undoubtedly be valuable before trying out the driving/riding simulators open to the public. Lastly, the "El Petit Dakar" zone (the little Dakar) has been set up to welcome the youngest motorsport fans. The children will be able to visit one of the cars that will follow the rally in its entirety, as well as receiving some simple and essential recommendations on road safety. They will then be able to leave their hand-print in paint on the vehicle before they leave.
