Marc Coma gets another deserved podium
The pilot AMV Marc Coma (KTM), winner of the 2006 and 2009 editions, has managed to land a new podium in Argentina, the 10th under his belt during the 2010 edition.
Nihul dunes, undisputed protagonists of the first bars of the test, tinged with gray the first 30km of the stage. Two liasons 76 and 281 km respectively, connected by 369 km of the special, have shaped the thirteenth day. During the last edition, AMV team drivers faced a very wet field, thus facilitating passage through the dune features. Today, the high temperatures that hit the area have been, again, the stars of the day.
Marc Coma, in the third position from the opening km of the stage, maintained a steady pace, not exceeding 145 km / h, with the sole intention of preserving the "mousse" from his wheel. Following Nihuil gray dunes, the riders entered in a much faster, consisting of open slopes, which concealed a more rocky area, about 30 km. Navigation, first, and large doses of determination, then, were the backbone of the driving done by Marc Coma, who finally got a time of 3 hours 29 minutes and 51 seconds.
The winner, the Norwegian Ullevalseter (KTM) won the thirteenth stage ahead of Frenchman Cyril Despres (KTM) while the pilot AMV Marc Coma, close the top three podium positions at 2 minutes and 46 seconds in the championship. His teammate Henk Kniuman after carburation problems from his motorbike, had to settle for 20th position.
Tomorrow, the last stage. The route will connect the villages of Santa Rosa and Buenos Aires with a special 206-kilometer timed to be developed primarily for fast tracks. The stage holds no great difficulty.
