Sherco TVS rider Alain Duclos was involved in a theft incident in the penultimate stage of the Dakar Rally, thereby loosing time and positions.
The French rider was running well in the top 10 until the seventh way point where he suffered a minor crash on his RTR 450.
After having repaired his bike, Duclos got ready to get going but found his helmet missing which is believed to have been stolen.
As the rally's norm, a rider cannot ride without a helmet due to security reasons, thus the Frenchman had to wait before finally getting a helmet to continue.
Duclos, lost about an hour to eventually finish Stage 12 84th and last while 24th in the overall standings.
Teammate Florent Vayssade had a relatively quite stage ending 23rd in the day's run and 28th in the general ranking.
KTM's Toby Price still leads the rally, closing to a win while Yahama tasted their first stage win courtesy Helder Rodrigues on Friday.
