"Bailey's Best Day Yet, Top 50 Finish"

Bailey has his best day with a stellar performance in Stage 6. Bailey and Cotel prove that they can navigate over this mostly off-road special. The team shakes off their "Dawdler" sigma of prior stages. Bailey started Stage 6 in 104th position and ended at 50, improving his overall standing to 141st, a 7-point improvement. Bailey finished the 444 kilometer special in 4 hours and 50 minutes averaging over 91 kilometers per hour on the rough terrain. The drivers complained that the sand in this special was soft like powder. "When we hit the soft sand handling my buggy felt more like skiing than driving," states Bailey.

Another good day for Team Vanguard. Philippe Gache maintains his overall standing at the 15th position, Kevin Heath improved his overall position by 20-points to clench the 64th position. The T4 truck also improved its standings by 5-points moving to the 43rd position.

Stage 7's course, Zouerat to Atar, features another long special at 499 kilometers. Considered the most difficult special of the week the course is entirely off-road. Navigational excellence will be rewarded again on this special. Those who miss the sparse land marks will have a hard time finding the right desert passes. The new challenge in this special is the camel grass. The grassy patches are mixed with the soft sand creating bumpy driving conditions that slow the pace and beat-up the drivers.
