Dakar Quads, Stage 10: Baragwanath scores second win, Patronellis cruise

South African rider Brian Baragwanath picked up a second stage win in his sophomore Dakar Rally, while the Patronelli brothers continued to pace themselves on their way to a fifth win for the family.

Marcos and Alejandro Patronelli ran within a minute of each other on the road and further extended their advantage in the standings, dropping time only to Baragwanath.

The victory in the event now appears set to go to Marcos, with Alejandro a minute and a half behind and the duo having vowed not to battle each other in the event.

Behind Baragwanath and the Patronellis, Sergey Karyakin was best of the rest in the stage, the Russian closing in on Jeremias Gonzalez for third place overall.

Both Karyakin and Gonzalez ended up gaining a spot when Alexis Hernandez, who had entered the day in third place, suffered a fuel tank issue - with the Peruvian yet to make the finish line at the time of writing.
