Cars - Numbers 200 and 201 have finished the stage. In 3h 46m 12s, Jutta Kleinschmidt regained 5m 34s from the leader Hiroshi Masuoka.
15:04 Cars: Johnny breaks and passes
Cars - Johnny Hallyday and Rene Metge (Nissan) were the victims of as broken wheel hub at the start of the special stage. They have repaired the damage and passed PC1.
14:50 De Mevius 20th at PC1
Cars - After leaving the start today in 80th position, Gregoire de Mevius (No. 203) had risen to 20th place at PC1, 17m 42 behind the best time of the section, Hiroshi Masuoka (Mitsubishi No. 1).
14:25 Bikes: Happy birthday, Alfie!
Bikes - The South African Alfie Cox celebrated his 39th birthday yesterday. And he celebrated it in fine style today by finishing the special stage six seconds ahead of Meoni, 1m 25s ahead of Roma, 3m 45s ahead of De Gavardo, 5m 17s in front of Sainct and 6m 50s ahead of Arcarons. In the overall classification, Meoni consolidated his leading position and now has an advantage of 3m 21s over Roma: the Spaniard moves in front of De Gavardo and Cox takes fourth place from Arcarons.
14:13 Peterhansel broken down
Cars - The race has swung a little further in Mitsubishi's favour. The Nissan Pick-Up (No. 208) of Stephane Peterhansel, fifth and the first non-Mitsu at the start of the stage, has stopped at the 94 kms point, with oil pump problems. He is waiting for assistance.
13:35 The 'Viking' is out
Bikes - The leading non-KTM rider, the Swede PG Lundmark (BMW No. 16), 11th in the overall classification this morning and a star of the 2001 Dakar, is reported to be stopped with a broken engine at the 52 kms point. He is waiting for the rescue vehicle.
