As a result of the recent flood at the start of the route, the day's special stage has been extended by 5 kms. The flood, in effect, reached 20 metres in recent days. The decision was taken to by-pass the section.

Problem for Coma
The Spanish rider Marc Coma (No 23), the best-placed 'non-KTM'at the start of the leg, has suffered fuel pump problems before CP1. He has managed to continue, but lost more than one hour.
