Montreal, May 31, 2006. The Parts Canada Superbike Championship returns to the Circuit this week end for the second of six rounds for 2006.
The full "Team Toyota-Yamaha Racing" will be in attendance, with quadruple Canadian Champion Pascal Picotte, as well as Kevin Lacombe, the young veteran being a new-for-2006 addition to the team.
The championship returns to the Circuit after a one-year absence, and will feature two major races, the Pro 600 Sportbike, and the feature class, Superbike.
With his multiple Canadian Superbike and Pro 600 Championships, in 2003 and 2004, at the controls of his Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 machines, Pascal is well positioned to gain victories and podium finishes this week end, especially after being slowed at the first round (4th in Superbike and 6th in Pro 600) by injuries he suffered in early May during pre season testing.
Pascal Picotte remains confident of doing well this weekend. " Le Circuit is the type of track that I like best, with high speed corners and a very smooth surface. The track suits my style end the lack of bumps will be easy on my still-tender body. Our 2006 Yamahas work particularly well and I fully expect to be battling for the win in both races ".
Kevin Lacombe is eager to get on the track after podium finishes in both races at the first round of the Championship in Shannonville (ON) two weeks ago. He is off to his best start of his career: " A second place finish in Superbike and a third place in Pro 600 at my first outing with Toyota-Yamaha Racing is beyond my expectations. The team prepares outstanding machines, and also helped me get the best out of them on track. I fully intend to continue on this positive path for the rest of the season, and especially at the Circuit, a track where I am always comfortable. "
Practice and qualifying will take place on Friday and Saturday, and the races will be on Sunday.
