Performance Motorsports makes special appearance for Cub Scouts
NASCAR Winston West team supporting community efforts
March 13, 2002 (Glendora, Calif.) -- The Performance Motorsports NASCAR Winston West 2002 Ford Taurus driven by Greg Pursley will be making a special appearance in Mission Hills this weekend at the Pinewood Derby being held at Chapel of the Cross Church located at 10000 Sepulveda Blvd. Mission Hills, Calif. The racecar will be on display from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The racecar will be a special guest of the Mission Hills Cub Scout Pack # 104 headed by Cubmaster Chris Wright. There are 18 boys in Pack # 104 and it seems kind of similar to the 18 boys that comprise the No. 77 Pack out of Performance Motorsports.
An added feature will be Performance Motorsports' new Mechanix Wear Speedtruck driver Brandon Arciero who will be on hand to answer questions and sign autographs.
Performance Motorsports is a multi series team that fields race cars in three different NASCAR series. The No. 77 Winston West Taurus Sponsored by Food4Less, King Taco Restaurants, Rudolph Foods, Mission Foods, Superior Axle and Gear and Jan's Towing is currently leading the Rookie of the Year standings in the Winston West Series.
The Winston West series is the oldest stock car series on the west coast. This year the series will put on up to 10 events at all different kinds of tracks ranging from the 3/8 mile Bullring in Las Vegas and the Irwindale Speedway to the super speedways of California and Kansas City.
Performance Motorsports will also campaign the No. 77 NASCAR Super Late Model Ford Taurus that will be sponsored by King Taco Restaurants. This car will also be driven by Greg Pursley and will run in the Miller Beer series at Irwindale Speedway.
Last, but not least a familiar name will be running for the team in the Mechanix Wear Speedtruck Challenge. Brandon Arciero will run the No. 77 King Taco Restaurants Speedtruck in 6 events this year. The first race will be on April 13th, 2002 at the Las Vegas Bullring as a companion race to the NASCAR Winston West event being held there on the same day.
