STUART, Va.– Wood Brothers Racing and NASCAR Winston Cup driver Elliott Sadler announced today that racing at Dover this weekend will also raise support for the families of the firefighters lost as a result of last week’s tragedy. Fund raising efforts for this weekend in Dover will consist of the entities donating $20 per lap completed to the Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows' and Children's Fund.
“ We want to do everything in our power to help the victims’ families,” stated Wood Brothers team owner Eddie Wood. “ The country has a lot of rebuilding to do and we feel it’s most important to help the widows and children of the victims.”
“ When I watched the tragedies unfold on TV it was heart breaking,” stated Sadler. “ I spoke with Eddie and we decided to donate money to the firefighters’ families. The firefighters who lost their lives will always be heroes in our hearts and I’m just thankful we’re able to help their families that have been left behind.”
In addition, the No. 21 Ford will have the United States Flag in three different locations this weekend at Dover promoting patronage. The flag will be carried on the hood, decklid and C-post. Sadler will also have the flag on his uniform.
