TeamRTR's Speed World Challenge Touring Car race at Elkhart Lake's Road America on Saturday, August 23, will be a lifetime achievement for one Wisconsin teen.
In conjunction with The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin, Nick Pulos, 18, Sheboygan, will be TeamRTR's honorary Crew Chief, assisting Andrew Armistead.
Prior to the 4:35 p.m. race start, Nick will give the command for the drivers to start their engines, then will join Armistead in the team's pits, wearing headphones to monitor the progress toward the checkered flag by the team's two drivers, TeamRTR owner Peter Cunningham, and Eric Curran.
Cunningham and Curran drive a pair of 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V cars in the Touring Car Championship series.
"We all don't get the same chances in life," said Cunningham. "If we can help Nick have one of the greatest weekends of his life, trust me, we're all for it. And having him with us will make us work even harder to win the race on our home track, knowing that will make the day that much more special for him."
As part of their association with The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin, Cunningham and the TeamRTR crew will be signing autographs at Gordie Boucher Nissan in West Allis, this Saturday from 1-4 p.m.
Gordie Boucher Nissan will donate $100 to The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin for every Nissan the dealership sells Saturday.
The TeamRTR Nissan Sentra SE-R effort is sponsored by Nissan North America, Inc., NISMO, Red Line Oil, Eibach Springs, BOSCH, Sparco, Gemini Technologies, and Brembo.
