Team Seattle taps Farnbacher Loles for 2008 Daytona 24 effort
For their twelfth and final effort at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, Team Seattle has chosen the defending Rolex GT Class Champions, Farnbacher Loles Racing to run its two-car effort. In its 11-year history, the team has achieved multiple race wins and has raised over $2.6 million for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. The 2008 driver line-up includes race veterans Don Kitch, Jr., Bill Cotter, Chris Bingham, Don Pickering, Ross Bentley, Chris Pallis, Steve Miller and Chris Pennington. Major corporate sponsors include Microsoft, Kid's Country Learning Centers, Barrier Motors, Live Search, HomeStreet Bank, Wayne's Roofing, Peltram Plumbing, Parkplace Motors LTD, Jackson Dean Construction and Myovision.
Team Settle founder Don Kitch spoke on the eve of the official kick-off in Seattle. "The city of Seattle has supported this team for eleven years. In that time, Team Seattle has delivered two class wins, 2.7 million dollars too our wonderful Children's Hospital and provided dreams and inspiration to the many young patients in children's hospitals across our nation. Proceeds from our campaign have funded the development of a new Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. In this process, Team Seattle has worked with the best teams Grand American Road Racing has to offer. The 2008 effort will be our best, therefore it is only logical to seek support from the best GT team Grand American currently has to offer. Team Seattle is very excited and confident to be working with the current championship team, Farnbacher Loles"
Farnbacher Loles team owner Gregory Loles was just as enthusiastic. "In their 11 years competing at Daytona, Team Seattle has gained the respect and gratitude of the entire racing community. These guys are spending their considerable time and dollars for an outstanding cause. It is not often we can say that there is a higher purpose to our racing efforts. We are honored to be part of this historic effort and look to help team Seattle go out with another podium finish."
The team goal for 2008 is $700,000.
