The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption Announces Association with Southard Motorsports
Dublin (June 20, 2007) - Today the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption announced the formation of an alliance with Southard Motorsports for the upcoming race at Mid Ohio. This association will increase the visibility and awareness for the Foundation, while offering a unique opportunity for families to enjoy their time together at the track and with the team.
Southard Motorsports will host several Wendy's Wonderful Kids families who have adopted out of foster care at the Daytona Prototype race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Saturday, June 23. The team, with its No. 3 Preformed Line Products Lexus Riley, competes in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve.
"We are delighted to affiliate with Southard Motorsports for this special event," said Rita Soronen, executive director of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. "The Southards have a passion for Grand-Am racing and foster care adoption which is evidenced by their commitment to bringing some very special families together on Saturday at Mid-Ohio."
The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to dramatically increasing the adoptions of the more than 150,000 children in North America's foster care systems waiting to be adopted. Created by Wendy's founder Dave Thomas who was adopted as a child, the Foundation leads programs such as Wendy's Wonderful Kids, which puts adoption recruiters in all 50 states and Canada to find permanent, loving families for children in the foster care system, and Adoption-Friendly Workplace, which encourages employers to offer adoption benefits to their employees.
