QUOTE FROM NHRA DRIVER RON CAPPS (second in points going into the NHRA Countdown to 1 playoffs driving the NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Funny Car), who drove the No. 28 NAPA car at the Prelude to the Dream and finished 13th:
"It's always nice to get to talk to some of the drivers that I don't get to see much. To sit down with guys like Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman to basically say 'Hey' and talk about how we watch each other on TV is great. They're always telling me how they watch drag racing and how much they enjoy it. It's always a great chance for us in a calm atmosphere to sit down and chat about what's going on in our lives and in our racing. But then, of course, the helmets go on and everything changes. This is only what I do once a year. Apparently, I need to either invest in a car or practice quite a bit more because a lot of these guys are buying their own cars and practicing quite a bit before this event.
"You are so reminded of how incredible this race track is and how fast it is and how passionate Tony Stewart is about owning the best dirt track in the country. And when you get out there with these best drivers in the world, and run the incredible speed that these cars do at this track, you're also reminded of how good they are. It's very demanding and very fast. I drive an 8000-horsepower Funny Car at over 330 mph and I remind them that that is exciting, but when you go into turn 3 at Eldora and you have Tony Stewart on one side and Kyle Busch on the other and Jimmie Johnson right on your tail, that's exciting. And to help raise money for such a good cause is outstanding."
