"Our Little Racers, 1st Annual Fun Day" on August 11 at Oswego Speedway
As many of you may know, former limited supermodified and now supermodified driver, Mark Van Luven and his wife Donna lost their baby daughter in Feb. 2001. In memory of Brette, the VanLuvens are planning a fundraiser to benefit Make a Wish Foundation (75%) and Children's Wish Foundation (25%).
It will be held on August 11 outside the Oswego Speedway and possibly on Friday, August 10 at the Super Cruise. There will be many activities for children and a few for adults too.
Some of the children's activities planned are: Face Painting , Balloon Designs , Life-size cartoon characters , A clown, Autographs from drivers , Some games, Hot dogs (only for kids) and more. This is all in the planning stages. They are also looking into a DUNK TANK if one can be found to rent.
No one will be obligated to spend any money at the above events, but donations will be accepted.
The main fundraising event will be a SILENT AUCTION. All Race Teams, Businesses and Individuals who might have something to donate to the auction are invited to do so. Donations of auction items may be given to Kathy Coon or Lynn Garlipp, available at the #99 limited pits in Oswego or Carol Haynes.
