3M CAR CARE AND CARSTAR COLLISION CENTERS TO HONOR MAKE-A-WISH RECIPIENT AS GRAND MARSHAL FOR 3M PERFORMANCE 400 PRESENTED BY BONDO

Austin Irwin, 12, of Greenfield, MO, to Give the Command for Sunday's Race 3M and CARSTAR Collision Centers to Donate $50,000 to Make-A-Wish If Greg Biffle Goes to Victory Lane

ST. PAUL, MN, (August 9, 2008) - For the 43 drivers competing in the upcoming 3M Performance 400 Presented by Bondo, their dream is to take home the checkered flag at the end of the day.

But for 12-year-old Austin Irwin, who lives in Greenfield, MO, his dream is simply to attend the race and meet some of his NASCAR heroes. Irwin suffers from Wilm's Tumor, a tumor of the kidneys that strikes children more frequently than adults. Approximately 500 cases are diagnosed in the U.S. annually. It is highly responsive to treatment, with about 90% of patients surviving at least five years.

During the race weekend, Irwin will meet Greg Biffle and Jeff Gordon, among other NASCAR stars, and deliver the "Gentlemen, start your engines" command for Sunday's race. He'll be joined by his parents and younger brother.

When not watching NASCAR, Irwin enjoys rock music, reading, going to the movies and playing outside with his brother.

Make-A-Wish Also Dreaming of Victory Lane

Make-A-Wish could also be a winner at the 3M Performance 400 Presented by Bondo if Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M Ford, goes to Victory Lane. 3M and CARSTAR have pledged a $50,000 donation to Make-A-Wish in Biffle's name if he wins the race.

"We have a longtime partnership with Make-A-Wish, so this provides a great opportunity for showing our support for the important work they do," said Dick Cross, CEO of CARSTAR. "Not only can we help make a child's wish come true, we're betting on Greg to bring home the checkered flag so we can help the Make-a-Wish organization help other children in need."

The 3M Performance 400 Presented by Bondo will be held on Sunday, August 17 at Michigan International Speedway. Driver introductions begin at 1:30 p.m. and the green flag will drop at 2 p.m. The race will be carried live on ESPN TV and MRN radio beginning at 2 p.m.
