CCI Fights Domestic Violence with Aid from Jasper Engines and Transmissions Racing Team
Mooresville, NC -- In support of the Crisis Connection, Inc.'s (CCI) continuing efforts to provide comprehensive, community-based services for the survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families, the No. 77 Jasper Engines and Transmissions (JET) team will carry specially decorated deck lids at Phoenix International Raceway as well as North Carolina Speedway.
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), Jasper Motorsports ran a purple ribbon decal on the hood and c-post areas of the yellow No. 77. In addition to the purple ribbon, JET made a commitment to provide the deck lid for individuals and companies who made donations to CCI.
Through this partnership, $6,700 was raised to assist with the operational budgets for services provided by CCI. Though the services provided are free to the victims and their families, there are still costs associated. "We offer the services free to the victims and their families but there are costs associated," said Beth Stein, Executive Director of Crisis Connection, Inc. "Through our partnership with Jasper Engines and Transmissions, we were able to raise funds to assist with those costs as well as to increase awareness of our programs and support systems."
Crisis Connection, Inc. provides free, professional and confidential services to the residents of Crawford, Dubois, Orange, Perry and Spencer Counties in rural southwestern Indiana, and maintains offices in Dubois, Perry and Spencer Counties.
"We are pleased that we were able to help out Crisis Connection through our Winston Cup sponsorship," said Doug Bawel, President and CEO of Jasper Engines and Transmissions (JET) and co-owner of Jasper Motorsports. "The supporters were very generous and we are proud to carry their names on the No. 77. We only hope the recognition CCI received with this promotion will not wane."
Stein plans to attend the Checker Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.
