Sam Hornish Jr. to pilot Young Life fundraiser.

Indianapolis, Indiana Young Life of Indianapolis is pleased to announce that Sam Hornish, Jr., driver of the #4 Pennzoil Panther Racing car will pilot their annual fundraiser during this year's running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 26, 2002.

Young Life Clubs from around Indianapolis will be cheering for Hornish! With every lap that he completes, the Young Life kids will have garnered pledges that will allow Young Life Club's to continue to thrive and to send hundreds of kids to camp this summer.

Since 1940, Young Life has provided healthy and creative controlled chaos for high school and middle school kids. From weekly clubs to seasonal camping experiences, Young Life is known around the world as the organization that knows how to have fun. As an outreach ministry, Young Life stays true to their time-tested practices they have been using for more than 60 years: going where kids are, loving them unconditionally, earning the right to be heard and communicating God's love in terms kids can understand.

Sam Hornish and the entire Panther Pack are involved with IRL Ministries and participate in a weekly bible study at the race shop. So when Sam was asked to hook up with Young Life at their All City Club meeting to help kick off the fundraiser in grand style, he was more than willing. Sam stated, "This is my first exposure to YoungLife, but it is tremendous and very cool!" The kids went crazy for him and if Indy goes their way, Hornish will not only complete all 200 laps, he'll do it first!

If anyone wishes to participate in the Young Life fundraiser and support the effort of Sam and the kids, they can call Young Life of Indianapolis at 317-923-1319. For more information about Young Life log onto: www.younglife.org
