Gearing Up For 5th Annual Celebrity Sports Auction

Tickets available for Gary Allan concert and Dale Jr. Celebrity Sports Auction Oct. 12-13

MOORESVILLE, N.C. -Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Gary Allan, whose career includes three No. 1 singles on Billboard's Hot Country charts, will be the headlining act at the 2008 Dale Jr. Celebrity Sports Auction kickoff concert Sunday, Oct. 12 at Whisky River in uptown Charlotte.

The Whisky River event begins a two-day fundraising effort by Earnhardt Jr. and The Dale Jr. Foundation. It will conclude with the fifth annual Dale Jr. Celebrity Sports Auction on Monday, Oct. 13, from 6 - 10 p.m. EST at Concord (N.C.) Convention Center.

Allan's performance at Whisky River will be his second go-round at the Charlotte bar, which Earnhardt Jr. opened in April. Kyle Petty, the popular NASCAR driver and TV personality who dabbled with a music career before shifting full time to racing, will open for Allan.

"This is the first time we've hosted a concert prior to our sports auction," Earnhardt Jr. said. "I think it gives the fans a larger experience when they take part in this charity event, and I'm glad we're doing it. We are really proud of how the public has embraced the Celebrity Sports Auction as well as Whisky River. To be able to bring Gary Allan in again and have Kyle Petty perform will make these two nights pretty cool."

Earnhardt Jr. will join a stout line-up of special guests at Monday's Celebrity Sports Auction that include NASCAR champion Dale Jarrett, PGA Tour golfer and member of the 2008 USA Ryder Cup team Boo Weekley, and NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers Brad Keselowski, Landon Cassill and Kerry Earnhardt. Fans can buy tickets now for Sunday's concert and Monday's sports auction at www.TheDaleJrFoundation.com, www.WhiskyRiverCharlotte.com, and the JR Nation retail store located at JR Motorsports in Mooresville, N.C. All proceeds raised by The Dale Jr. Foundation will go toward its support chain, including Make-A-Wish Foundation and Victory Junction Gang Camp.

"This event has always been special to me," Earnhardt Jr. said. "We've been able to raise a lot of money for Make-A-Wish over the years. The Dale Jr. Foundation, which we started last year, is quickly catching the attention of fans and supporters, and we hope to keep exceeding our goals."

Monday's event will feature an on-stage question-and-answer session with the celebrities, as well as live and silent auctions for sports memorabilia and collectables. Items up for bid include a U.S. Navy "Dale Jr. Division" firesuit worn by Earnhardt Jr., a Cleveland Browns helmet autographed by Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Jim Brown, a signed fiddle by Charlie Daniels, and tickets to a Boston Red Sox game in team owner John Henry's seats.

Fans can purchase individual event tickets, concert/auction bundle tickets, or the limited Super Tickets, which consists of a meet-n-greet with the celebrities, and a backstage meet-n-greet with Petty prior to the concert.

Additionally, the much-anticipated drawing for Earnhardt Jr.'s personal 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe will take place Monday evening. Fans can still purchase $88 tickets for the chance win the Tahoe by visiting www.TheDaleJrFoundation.com. For more information, call 1-800-594-TIXX.
