(DEARBORN, Mich., July 2, 2003) -- Race Fans for a Cure® will continue its contributions to the fight against breast cancer when it visits Kentucky Speedway next weekend.
Race Fans for a Cure® -- a charitable initiative started in 2000 and comprised of Ford Credit, Dale and Kelley Jarrett, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation -- has distributed tens of thousands of informational shower cards and has raised more than $300,000, often a dollar at a time, for the Komen Foundation.
The Race Fans for a Cure® display and show car, the Race Fans for a Cure® edition of the No. 88 NASCAR Winston Cup Taurus that was unveiled during last year's check presentation to the Komen Foundation, will be outside of the gates of the Kentucky Speedway, near Entrance 8, from 12-8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The display will offer information about the Komen Foundation and its mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment, and is equipped to accept donations from fans.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1982 on a promise made between two sisters -- Nancy Goodman Brinker and her dying sister, Susan Goodman Komen. More than 20 years later the Komen Foundation is a global leader in the fight against breast cancer, research grants, meritorious awards and educational, scientific and community outreach programs around the world. Together with its Affiliate Network, corporate partners and generous donors, the Komen Foundation has raised nearly $600 million in the fight against breast cancer.
