DALE EARNHARDT JR AND SHARPIE® HELP KIDS WIN AT BACK-TO-SCHOOL

NASCAR's Most Popular Driver teams up with Sharpie to donate school supplies to local Boys & Girls Club

BRISTOL, Tenn., August 23, 2007 - It's back to Bristol - which can only mean it's back to school for hundreds of thousands of students across the country. To commemorate the official start of the school year, NASCAR's Dale Earnhardt Jr and Sharpie® are teaming up with Speedway Children's Charities to help a special group of kids cross their own finish line this school year.

Dale Jr will step into Victory Lane on the afternoon of Friday, August 24 to present members of the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol, Virginia with a win of their own - $10,000 in backpacks full of much-needed school supplies, along with a check to help further the Club's mission to provide tutoring, computer training, sports education, homework help, and mentoring to area youth. The donation is part of Sharpie's Autographs for Action program, which annually collects one-million autographs in exchange for $1 million in funds and school supplies for schools, community groups and charitable organizations nationwide.

"Bristol is a unique and special place, and to be part of something like this - especially during the Sharpie 500 weekend - is an honor," said Dale Jr. "The kids are the winners here."

Dale Jr also will join Club members in signing Sharpie's giant autograph wall, contributing his much-coveted signature to Sharpie's collection drive for charity.

Autographs for Action annually seeks one-million autographs as part of its program to give away $1 million in funds and supplies for community groups, charitable organizations and schools nationwide.
