Make-A-Wish& Australia has been announced as the official charity of the 2010 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series - protected by Armor All.
The mission of Make-A-Wish& Australia is "To grant the Wishes of Children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy." (ref: Make-A-Wish& Australia).
Australian V8 Ute Racing will endeavour to raise funds and awareness for the Foundation and Make-A-Wish& QLD/NT State Manager Bebe Mawer is excited by the opportunity.
"The Utes are such a great fit for us. We are very excited to be involved in the Series and think it will pose some great opportunities for the children and Make-A-Wish as a whole," said Bebe Mawer.
This is the first time on a seasonal basis the Series have had a particular charity involved and Category Manager and Director of SPHERIX, Bill West believes if the drivers and category ban together collectively they can really make it work.
"A lot of our drivers have already contacted us in regards to supporting the cause. We look forward to building the relationship with Make-A-Wish and hope we can raise their profile and on the way make a few wishes come true," said West.
Australian V8 Ute Racing will run a few initiatives including a link from the V8 Utes website, Auction Items at V8 Ute events, Hot Lap days, awareness through stickers on the V8 Utes and information in V8 Ute showbags.
Make-A-Wish& Australia already made a presence at Round 1, Clipsal 500, with stickers on each of the 32 V8 Utes as well as the presence of their official Mascot "Flossy" who made an appearance on the Podium and the Grid.
