RACE FANS CAN HELP SUPPORT SPECIAL OLYMPICS WISCONSIN THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AT MIS
Wednesday, July 18, 2007 (Daytona Beach, FL) -- Race fans will have the opportunity to support a great organization this Friday night at Madison International Speedway. The ASA Midwest Tour along with Kwik Trip Stores and Trackside Charities are donating $3 of every adult ticket sold at its event at MIS on Friday, July 20th to the Special Olympics Wisconsin.
The ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment will make its debut at the Echo Chainsaw/Five Star Race Car Bodies No Bull 100 presented by Briggs and Stratton and Jon Lancaster Toyota this Friday night at Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile Oval. The Super Late Model Series will feature its Touring Stars along with NASCAR stars Kyle Busch and Johnny Sauter, along with former MIS track champions Dick Trickle and Rich Bickle, Jr.
"One of the goals of our series is community involvement," Steve Einhaus, Vice-President/Event Director of the ASA Midwest tour stated. "Special Olympics Wisconsin shows the spirit of great competition with some of the most outstanding athletes in the State. We are happy to support this great organization."
Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI) is a statewide organization providing persons with cognitive disabilities year-round sports training and competition. Individuals who are at least eight years old and are identified as having cognitive disability are eligible for participation.
SOWI has seven area offices throughout the state and serves nearly 10,000 athletes in 220 communities statewide. SOWI is one of 50 state programs and one of nearly 130 countries providing this opportunity to more than one million athletes worldwide. Part of its mission is to give individuals with cognitive disabilities the continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
