Third win for Barreda at Pharaons Rally

Husqvarna Rallye Team by Speedbrain notched up a third stage victory on the fourth day of the Pharaons rally. The Spanish rider proved himself to be both fast at racing and deft at navigation on the TE449RR by Speedbrain, dominating the stage throughout the entire 530 km (331 miles) of special test. Team mate Paulo Goncalves finished third just over a minute behind Przygonsky.

Barreda now holds a firm grip on the overall standings of the rally with more than ten minutes advantage over Goncalves. Ullevalsetter ran into technical problems and Viladoms struggled with physical pain after yesterday’s crash. Salvatierra and Czachor moved up into fourth and fifth overall place.

Joan Barreda: “Today I was really at my best; to win such a difficult stage and be in command from start to finish without having tracks to follow is really satisfying. The bike was perfect in every situation!”

Paulo Goncalves: “I knew it was going to be a tough and treacherous stage today with so much deep sand, which is why I thought it better to keep my rivals in check and content myself with third place.”

Wolfgang Fischer- Team Manager: “Yet another fine victory and it gives us enormous satisfaction to see Barreda who rode and navigated like a true champion. I’m also really glad for Goncalves who controlled the race without taking too many risks.”
