TODAY, FRANCISCO LOPEZ OBTAINED THE SEVENTH PLACE IN THE OPENING SUPER SPECIAL OF THE 20TH VERSION OF THE DESERT CHALLENGE. TOMORROW, THE RACE WILL START WITH THE FIRST STAGE OF 404 KM FROM WHICH 286 COMPOSED THE DAY 'S TIMED STAGE.

Chaleco has gotten the 7th place, ahead of Helder Rodrigues, which will be his main rival during the next days. Marc Coma, winner of the last edition, finished this Super Special in the 21st place.
The Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge will become serious tomorrow with the first timed special of 286 km which will take will take the riders to the Rub Al Kahli Desert and the Bivouac of Moreeb, which will be the headquarters for the following days.
Francisco Lopez: "Today was just a formality; the real combat will start from tomorrow. I didn 't forced much, today was important to get a good position to start the first stage and I think the 7th place is great.
