McNALLY STRIPPED OF BEST EVER RESULT

Mark McNally was stripped of his fourth place in Saturday's Race 1 at Winton Raceway for failing to present his car for weighing after the event and as a result will start from the rear of today's reverse top-10 race.

The situation developed when Mark's engineer seemingly misheard a race control radio call for the car to be weighed post-race.

"It is obviously bitterly disappointing for us," Mark said.

"There is nothing we can do about it now so I will just do my best from the back of the grid." How did it happen?

After the race is over and the drivers return to pit-lane a radio call will go out to the team engineers (only one person per team is connected to race control) to indicate which cars are required to be weighed.

Mark's engineer thought that car 71 was called when the officials recorded car 74 (Mark) as being called.

Once the car was back at the team garage they were informed that they had not presented for weighing and would front a hearing.

The outcome of the hearing was that Mark was removed from the results of the race.

Mark will now line up from the rear of this Sunday's reverse-top-10 race which will be followed by the final 24-lap race.
