Howard Racing Team Take A Good Look In The Mirror
Gold Coast based V8 Supercar team Howard Racing are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for victory at the fourth round of the HPDC V8 Supercar Series at Mallala International Raceway this weekend.
Whilst the Howard Racing Team engineers have focused on reviewing suspension components on both race cars, team drivers Mark Howard and Adam Macrow have undertaken a rigorous training program with renowned Gold Coast personal trainer Wendy Stensen.
Since stepping up his training last month Series leader Adam Macrow has shed six kilos and says he is keen to see what impact the weight loss has on his times at Mallala this weekend.
"I have really stepped up my training since QLD Raceway and I am on an extremely strict diet," Macrow said.
"I will be interested to see what impact the weight loss has on my times at Mallala this year as we have seen varying weights of co-drivers in the endurance races impact on lap times before.
"This coupled with the engineering changes the team has made should put us in good stead for a win this weekend.
Macrow currently holds an impressive twenty point lead in the HPDC V8 Supercar Series on 704 points.
After struggling for grip at Queensland Raceway last month the Howard Racing Team engineers have developed and manufactured new front suspension components to assist with the overall performance and consistency of the cars.
Team Owner Mark Howard said the team had undergone a complete overhaul following their disappointing results at Queensland Raceway.
"We were extremely disappointed with our results at Queensland Raceway and have worked hard since the event on improving the cars for the remainder of the series," Howard said.
"There has been no stone left unturned, we have looked at every aspect of the team including the fitness of both myself and Adam.
"The Howard Racing team is committed to winning this championship and will do whatever it takes to ensure we line up on the grid with the best cars possible.
In the lead-up to round four of the HPDC V8 Supercar Series at Mallala Raceway (August 20-21) Howard Racing Team drivers Mark Howard and Adam Macrow will join Yamaha Supercross riders Troy Carroll and Matt Moss for a special visit to the Adelaide Children's Hospital on Friday 19th August at 2.00pm
