STATEMENT - Bob Pearson update

Sydney driver Bob Pearson was involved in an accident during the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro held at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, NSW last weekend.

The car Pearson was driving in the race made contact with the concrete wall in the Forrest Elbow section of the circuit on lap 82, just past the four hour mark in the 12 Hour race.

After initially being assessed at the trackside Medical Centre Pearson was transported to the Bathurst Base Hospital to obtain a complete understanding of the injuries sustained from the incident.

On Tuesday he was transported by air ambulance to a Sydney Hospital and in a further improvement on his stable condition he was transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to a general ward overnight.

Pearson's condition is rapidly improving and he is likely to be discharged by the end of the week to allow him to complete his rehabilitation at home.

Doctors expect Pearson to make a full and complete recovery in the coming weeks and he thanks everyone who has passed on their best wishes and thoughts.
