Oulton Park Circuit
Team ES Racing head north in search of BTCC points finish
Luton-based Team ES Racing head north this weekend with one clear goal in mind, to finish in the points at this weekend's round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park.
Chris James has fond memories of the Cheshire circuit as he picked up his first win there when he was racing in the MINI challenge series and will be looking to build on his experience of the circuit this weekend in the Chevrolet Lacetti.
"I do like the circuit, especially the island and the full circuit. Oulton Park is quick throughout, it's challenging but I hope to do well there this weekend as I have done in the past" enthused James.
"Our ultimate aim is to move forward and score some championship points."
The team have been given a boost ahead of the weekend after governing body TOCA announced that normally aspirated engine cars would be able to run 25kg lighter than previously, along with this the NGTC powered cars receive a slight drop in turbo power.
Since Thruxton the team have been working hard on the car including fitting a rebuilt engine from RML as the original reached its natural lifespan following the three opening weekends of the BTCC.
This weekend is also a special weekend for the team after giving charities the opportunity to raise their own awareness with a sticker on the car.
"The team and I are thoroughly looking forward to this weekend. We have some fantastic charities displayed on the car and hope to raise awareness of them - a great reason for us to go into this weekend with our continued positivity. "
