Andy Neate will make a full-time return to the BTCC as the third driver for Honda Yuasa Racing this season, it has been announced.
Neate, 41, joins existing drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal in the Team Dynamics-run squad, which took the BTCC title last year with Shedden.
It will mark Neate's first full-time campaign in the series since 2012, when he was Jason Plato's teammate at MG Triple Eight Racing and finished 16th in the championship with a career-best result of sixth.
He made selected outings in a privately-run Chevrolet Cruze the following season, but has been out of competitive action since.
"We are delighted to have signed Andy to take on the third car and help our team point scoring capabilities for this season," said Honda team manager James Rodgers.
"The trend for increasing numbers of cars in teams has meant we are very keen to bolster our presence on the grid this year.
"Andy joins the Honda works team with plenty of experience to build on and a hunger for podium places, which is just what we are after."
