Cosworth has announced a six-year extension to its BTCC partnership, with the firm continuing as single source electronics supplier for the series until the end of 2021.
The British engineering company has worked with the BTCC for the past 15 years, and this new deal will see the championship use Cosworth’s latest generation chassis electronics products.
Cosworth already provides the BTCC with its aliveDRIVE and scrutineering platforms, which offer fans immersive content while also enabling series officials to make informed scrutineering and stewarding decisions.
The new agreement will allow fans the chance to view the pole-setting lap from inside the cockpit complete with on-screen data overlays directly after each qualifying session.
“Cosworth has played an important role in the BTCC over many years and we are delighted to renew our collaboration in providing the latest hardware and software from our electronics team,” said Cosworth’s Commercial Director Thomas Buckler.
“This updated agreed is an extension to our existing relationship with BTCC and sees the series brought fully in line with Cosworth’s latest electronics offering.
"The growth of the BTCC in recent years has been impressive: technical credibility increased coverage, fantastic racing and more manufacturer involvement. We’re thrilled that motor racing fans will benefit from our latest innovations.”
