Team B&Q are delighted to finally unveil their drivers for the 2002 season when they will compete in the production class of the British Touring Car Championship in a pair of Honda Accords.

Despite announcing his retirement at the final round of the 2001 season at Brands Hatch, the charismatic John Batchelor will return to drive for the team that he owns. He will be joined by the highly rated Jim Edwards Jnr who also raced in the series last season.

Maidenhead based Jim is a vastly experienced driver who has raced a wide range of different machinery and has won two different championships in the past. In 1986, his first year in motorsport, he took several poles and wins in the Duckhams Super Saloon Car Championship, finishing third overall. Following that he moved on to the competitive Renault 5 Elf GT Turbo UK Cup for several years, winning the championship outright in 1990. After that he took a sabatical from the sport before returning in the Renault Clio UK Cup, winning that championship in 2000 with the Mark Fish team.

On the back of his second championship success he moved on to the BTC-P Honda Accord, managing to score an excellent race win against the odds at Croft. Following a DNF in the next round he decided to sit out the remainder of the season, but was invited to make a return at Brands Hatch - at the wheel of a Formula Renault car. This was the first time he'd driven a single seater in competition and only the second time ever following a test in a Reynard Cosworth F3000 way back in 1989. Although he enjoyed the race, held in terrible conditions, he is glad to be back in tin-tops for this season.

John Batchelor stated, "I am delighted that I will be racing again this season, something I wasn't expecting myself to be saying at the end of last season! To be sitting here announcing that someone of Jim's calibre and versatility will be joining me on the grid is something that fills me with great excitement and I cannot wait for Easter and the start of our campaign - the team has served it's apprenticeship, now we can get out there and have some real fun!"
