Penultimate round for season 2008 of FIA GT world championship. Heading north to Zolder, in Belgium, where the season 2007 ended, this year it is the last european race. The 4 km track has seen some thrilling FIA GT races in the past, and 2008 should be no different.

The GT2 category saw the titles decided in Nogaro, with AF Corse winning their third successive GT2 Teams Championship, while Toni Vilander and Gianmaria Bruni made sure of the GT2 Drivers Championship after a near perfect year, finishing in the top three at every race.

In the GT2 Drivers Championship the battle is still open for the second and third place. Christian Montanari and Thomas Biagi are 4th, with only 7 points distance from Westbrook and 10.5 from Ruberti - Malucelli, with still two races to the end.

This has been one of the strongest-ever fields in the GT2 category, with record numbers of all-professional crews and a large number of drivers moving from GT1 to GT2, like the couplet Montanari - Biagi and Davies - Babini.

With so much at stake, Zolder is sure to provide a perfect backdrop for another exciting round of the 2008 FIA GT Championship.

As well as a full schedule of racing, the weekend will feature the second round of the FIA GT Championship's 'Run for the Earth' initiative. In Nogaro Gianmaria Bruni won the foot race, while Christian Montanari arrived 5th. In Zolder, bike's home, feet will be exchanged for wheels. A one-hour endurance race, with as many people riding each bike as wished, will take place on the Friday evening, to raise money to offset the carbon emissions from the meeting.
