For one month since the exciting weekend of the FIA World GT on the track German Oscherleben, Davide Rigon is ready to dive back inside of his Ferrari F430 GT2 for the fifth race, the 24h of Spa-Francorchamps.
For this event the team BMS Scuderia Italia has decided to merge the two crews in a single car: this means that the young Davide Rigon split the steering wheel the only yellow-red F430 with his fellow team Joel Camathias, Matteo Malucelli and Paolo Ruberti.
"I'm really pleased to return to lead" commented Davide Rigon "It will be my first 24h and more about a fantastic track, as difficult as that of Spa-Francorchamps. Arriving in this event very load and determined to obtain the maximum, especially after the good performance so far, where we touched upon several times the podium and have cut the finish line first among the Pirelli rubber in the last appointment. For the first time be working directly with Malucelli and Ruberti, two pilots with great experience from which I can learn a lot. Before this match I attended the tests on their collective Belgian circuit where we have tried in different conditions, collecting plenty of information. In addition we have made specific testing with Pirelli and once again we managed to improve performance, already excellent, our tyres. All this makes me very confident. Then we all know how the races --. especially those Endurance".
The weekend will begin on Thursday July 31 with two free practice sessions from 90 'each and then continue with the session qualifications and warm up (Friday and Saturday). The start of 24h of Spa-Francorchamps is instead scheduled for 16.00 hours of Saturday, August 2.
After four appointments Davide Rigon occupies the sixth position in overall standings with 13 points, only 4 lengths from the second crew BMS Scuderia Italia (Matteo Malucelli and Paolo Ruberti - 17 points)
