PAOLO RUBERTI'S FIA GT 2008 STARTS FROM THE PODIUM

Third place for Paolo Ruberti in the opening race of the 2008 FIA GT held today on the legendary British track of Silverstone.

Started under a falling rain from the fourth position of GT2 class, the driver from Verona has been author of a first stint characterized by changing weather conditions. Intermediate tyres, fitted a few minutes before the getaway according to forecasts giving an attenuation of the rain, made quite difficult the management of the car in the first part of the race. Minute after minute, the rain decreased its intensity and Ruberti could push in such a way to give his team-mate the number 77 F430 in third position. Malucelli kept afterwards this result till the chequered flag.

Paolo Ruberti:

"The team worked very well on the setup as well as on the strategy. We started the season with a podium, we are therefore extremely satisfied. With a little bit of more fortune we would have possibly battled for the victory but, for the opening race, a third place is wicked."
