Aston Martin Racing's all-new DBR9s will head tomorrow's starting grid for the 3rd round of the FIA GT Championship at Silverstone.

Car 28, driven by the Sebring-winning David Brabham and Darren Turner, took pole in today's qualifying sessions, with a lap time of 1:15.792. Car 29 with Peter Kox and Pedro Lamy at the wheel will start in 2nd place after recording a lap time of 1:16.329.

Aston Martin Racing Team Principal, George Howard-Chappell commented: "Obviously we are delighted to be on the front row in a home race. We enjoyed a strong session, with both cars running well.

"I think some of our competitors had the potential to post similar lap times, but fortunately for us David (Brabham) was able to put together the perfect lap for pole.

I'm expecting it to be extremely competitive tomorrow, so we're in for an exciting race."

David Brabham, who notched the fastest lap of the day added: "This is a historic event and Silverstone is a home race for the team and Aston Martin. It's great that Peter (Kox) and I have managed to take the front row and really it's a thank you for the effort put in by the team as a whole.

We still need to work on our race pace for tomorrow, as I wouldn't say that we have a comfortable lead. Several other established competitors have the potential to push hard, but our car is new and we're still learning."

Aston Martin Racing wish to clarify that there has been a numbering change from those originally published in practice. Car 28 (yellow livery) is driven by David Brabham and Darren Turner, with car 29 (red livery) driven by Pedro Lamy and Peter Kox.
