Luca Riccitelli– nr 77 RWS Porsche : "Considering the weather conditions, we did a good job overall. The car was running really well, although we had some problems in the night. By the end the car was fine. Our position in the championship is now much better than before, and this has given us good points, but the Ferrari will still fight us for the rest of the season."
Antonio Garcia– nr 77 RWS Porsche : "It was really nice to race on this circuit, and I am very happy. The race was very long for me as I’m not used to this kind of race. But we all did a very good job and this is the result."
Norman Simon - nr 77 RWS Porsche : "There is a big difference between the BMW I drive in the FIA European Touring Car Championship and the GT car, which has a lot more grip and power. But in a 24 hour race, you don’t push as hard."
Dieter Quester - nr 77 RWS Porsche : "This is my fourth win at Spa– the first was back in 1973 in a BMW with Toine Hezemans. It seems as if Spa is a great race for me ! Antonio did fantastic lap times at night– everyone did a great job."
Stephane Ortelli– nr 57 Freisinger Porsche : "It was amazing race ; it was so good to race against this level of competition. I feel proud to race such a good car on this kind of circuit. Andrea was very quick in the night. It’s a shame we lost such a lot of time with our radiator change, or we could have fought for the win."
Andrea Chiesa - nr 57 Freisinger Porsche : "The team did a fantastic job, we had no particular problems apart from the radiator. The track is so nice here, with such close racing. This is my second time in the Spa 24 Hours, and my second podium, so it must be good for me !"
Cyrille Sauvage - nr 57 Freisinger Porsche : "Last time I raced here was in Formula 3000 in 1997– I like this circuit a lot, especially in wet conditions. I was actually a bit quicker in the wet than in the dry. This is my first time in a 24 hour race, and I must say that driving at night is very strange."
Thierry Perrier– nr 55 Perspective Porsche : "We finished third at Le Mans this year ; that race was slightly more difficult this year, when the rain came during the night, whereas here it was dry at night. But there, it is quite light around the track, and here it was very dark, and we only have two headlights on our Porsche. Our aim was to get as many points in the Championship as possible, and to race at Spa."
Michel Neugarten– nr 55 Perspective Porsche : " This is a fantastic track and we had no real problems with the car. But I must say that I am tired."
Kurt Thiers– nr 55 Perspective Porsche : "I know Michel Neugarten very well, we’ve raced together before, including a win here at Spa earlier this year in the Lamborghini Supertrophy. I don’t know why I always say yes when he asks me to drive with him…".
Christophe Bouchut– nr 7 Larbre Viper : " I am very happy for two reasons– first of all because the FIA GT title has been settled. And then this is a 24 hour race, and it is impossible to know beforehand if we could win. This is a very prestigious race, and it is very good to win it. I won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1993 on my first visit, the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1995, also on my first visit, and now this is my first time at Spa, and I’ve also won. It’s great."
Jean-Philippe Belloc– nr 7 Larbre Viper : "It was a very difficult race; we had a number of small problems. Christophe lost a wheel, which could have been disastrous. And we lost the radio, which meant that we could make the wrong choices. Our strategy was to be gentle on the mechanical parts. But it is great to simultaneously win the Championship and to take my first win at a race like the 24 Hours of Spa."
Marc Duez– nr 7 Larbre Viper : "Our team had definite potential, but we had some very strong opponents, not least being the weather. It’s a shame for Carsport, but I’m very pleased for us. It would be great to have this sort of crowd at every round of the Championship. So far, I have no plans for the rest of the Championship."
Patrice Goueslard– nr 17 Larbre Viper : "Thanks to Jack Leconte and Jean-Luc Chereau, we had the opportunity to enter a Viper. It wasn’t a simple matter to do a 24 Hour race without any testing beforehand, so I think we did a very good job. Sebastien Bourdais did super work, and Larbre proved that they are the best GT team in Europe !"
Sebastien Bourdais– nr 17 Larbre Viper : "You have to take your opportunities in GT racing. The conditions here were awful, you could hardly imagine a worse situation. But everything went well. In fact, since my F3000 win at Silverstone, everything has followed on perfectly. It was a crazy idea for the team to enter a second Viper, which meant a lot of reorganization in the team, but both team and drivers did an excellent job."
Sebastien Dumez– nr 17 Larbre Viper : "This was my first experience in the Viper, and it is very difficult to compare it to the Porsche 996 GT3-R. "
Eric de Doncker– nr 26 Silver Viper : "We started in the FIA GT Championship this season, and a result like this is practically beyond belief, for an amateur team like us. Being on the podium alongside professional teams like Larbre is unbelievable. I’d really like to thank Luca Ferrari of Racing Box, who made this victory possible."
Vincent Dupont– nr 26 Silver Viper : "We had a plan, and we followed it, and we didn’t change a thing on the car. And we didn’t lose a wheel !"
Robert Dierick - nr 26 Silver Viper : "It’s one of the great things about the FIA GT Championship, that we drive alongside professional drivers. To finish third here is a really extraordinary result. We’ll be carrying on in the Championship, of course, and we’ll try to repeat our result !"
