BUMPER GRID FOR MONZA TEST DAYS

There should be an excellent turn-out for the two-day official test for the 2005 season of the FIA GT Championship, which will take place in Monza on March 22nd and 23rd. The high numbers attending have forced the organisers to split the test sessions between the FIA GT and FIA WTCC cars. However, this still leaves over six hours of track time, split over two days, for the GT cars. The grid will give a fine preview of this year's field, with Ferrari 575 M and 550 Maranello, Maserati MC12, the Lister Storm, Lamborghini Murciélago and Saleen S7 cars all turning up for the GT1 category, while Porsche 996 GT3 and Ferrari 360 Modena cars will test in GT2, alongside the G2 Mosler MT900R.

A last-minute addition has been the return of Czech team Menx, with their Ferrari 550 Maranello, to be driven by team regular and IRL driver Tomas Enge, a three-times FIA GT pole man. The team hopes to compete in the Brno round in June.

The 22nd March will also be the Media Day for both the FIA World Touring Car Champi- onship and the FIA GT Championship; the day will include a press conference at 12:00 and guest laps for journalists in a variety of cars.
