ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport again without racing luck at the GT1 World at Portugal - Best result is position 8 on Saturday at the Algarve
Friedersdorf/Portimão (rol/ot) There was not much to be happy about for the Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport from Friedersdorf (Saxony) at the 7th round of the FIA GT1 World Championship with the races 13 and 14 last weekend at the Algarve track at Portugal. But when German Dominik Schwager got his cake for his 34th birthday from his team colleagues on Saturday (18th of September) everybody shared this happy moment. The best result on this piste near Portimão has been by the birthday child from Munich and his team colleague Nicky Pastorelli (Netherlands/Italy) in the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 RS-V with starting number 38 at the Qualifying Race on Saturday. The next day at the one hour Championship Race both discarded after 13 of 34 laps because of a problem on the water pump. After a great start the car with Pastorelli behind the wheel got hit by a combatant and this may have been the cause for the problem later.
So the position 17 of the Muennich-Lamborghini #37 with the French Christophe Bouchut and German Marc Basseng (Neusalza-Spremberg) behind the wheel has been the only result on Sunday for the racing stable from Saxony of team principal Rene Munnich. Although Bouchut already has been on position twelve after a great catch up race from the end of the field a failed pit stop at the driver change made all hopes gone for a better result. The day earlier Basseng discarded after 13 laps being on position four because of problems on the brakes.
^AWe could see the rising tendency of the performance of our cars at the Algarve but unfortunately didn't get the right results again", told Marc Basseng that is the team manager of ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport same time. ^AThe second time in a row we missed out on racing luck. All we can hope for is change for the coming races." Winners of the races at Portugal have been Michael Krumm and Peter Dumbreck (Germany/Great Britain) in the Nissan GT-R (Saturday) and Michael Bartels/Andrea Bertolini (Germany/Italy) in the Maserati MC12. The 8th season event of the GT1 World is scheduled from 22nd to 24th of October at Navarra (Spain) and at the end of November there will be the double season finale at South America.
