A problem with the radiator puts Andrea Piccini's Lister out or order.
The Race in Oschersleben, Germany for Andrea Piccini's #15 Lister Storm only lasted a little more than an hour. The reason for his retirement is a problem he had with the radiator: it is highly probable that a rock that flew from the tires of the car ahead of Piccini hit the radiator and broke it. It was impossible for the mechanics to fix the damage and Andrea Piccini's race ended abruptly.
"It's a real pity. The weekend started on a good note. The whole team worked really well and concentrated on the car's set up. I was able to conquer the fifth place during the qualifications and was once again ahead of my team- mate Campbell- Walter. Then came the race. After an action packed, I found myself behind Alliot's Viper. The Viper's fast speed prevented me from overtaking him. Moreover, perhaps for a problem or due to his style Alliot very often drove with two tires on the dirt. This caused a lot of clouds of sands that caused bad visibility. It must have been on one of his off track excursions that a rock at top speed hit and cracked my radiator. In fact, towards the end of the first hour, some liquid kept squirting on my windshield but I thought it was coming from the car ahead of me. In reality, it was my radiator that was leaking. My team-mate Sterckx had to retire for just this reason: the temperature of the engine was rising. It's a shame. We could have had a fought for a podium position. "
