Young Driver AMR quickest in both Friday sessions

Young Driver AMR had a brilliant Friday at the GT1 World Championship round at Nuerburgring. The two Young Driver AMR-Aston Martin DBR9 were the fastest cars in the free practise and in the pre qualifying. Stefan Muecke (D) and Christoffer Nygaard (DK) clocked the quickest time in the early wet free practise, while Darren Turner (GB) and Tomas Enge (CZ) were quickest in the almost just as wet pre qualifying.

As usual at the Nuerburgring, the weather played the most important role on the first day of the sixth round of the GT1 World Championship in the Eifel mountains. During the day, several torrential downpours made the track very tricky, but in the afternoon pre qualifying session the track got dry for a few minutes, only to return to the slippery wet. Young Driver AMR did an excellent job in both conditions as Stefan Muecke in car #8 topped the completely wet free practise, while Tomas Enge in the #7 car was quickest during the short dry spell in the pre qualifying.

"It was a good start in the weekend, we showed whatever the weather was, that we were the quickest team out there," Tomas Enge said. Darren Turner was also optimistic: "The conditions were very difficult, so you are not yet there about the performance of our competitors. But this was a very encouraging start into the weekend."
