More points for Scuderia Playteam SaraFree
6th - Maserati MC12 nr 11, Andrea Bertolini (Ita) - Andrea Piccini (Ita)
7th - Maserati MC12 nr 12, Giambattista Giannoccaro (Ita) - Alessandro Pier Guidi (Ita)
Sunday, September 30, 2007 - The 3.636km Nogaro circuit provided an exciting and incredibly close qualifying session, and an equally exciting race. Scuderia Playteam SaraFree finished in the points with its two cars in 6th place (Bertolini/Piccini) and just behind, in 7th place (Pier Guidi/Giannoccaro).
The two drivers finished the race in the points but the lead of the drivers' championship classification goes to Biagi with 55 points against Bertolini 50 points, meaning that the next and last race of the championship will be very exciting finish. "It leaves no room for errors," warns Andrea Bertolini.
Alessandro Pier Guidi commented, "We could have had a better result as the car was really fantastic. I did my best and pushed as much as I could. I just could not do any better during the race. Zolder will certainly be different."
Andrea Bertolini added, "The race today was difficult. We were well prepared but the complications were above our expectations. I was hoping to be more competitive during the race. The race today was difficult and the championship is coming to a really decisive phase and we will fight hard for it."
Giambattista Giannoccaro commented, "I was expecting a better result. We have not really shown the maximum of our efforts despite our two perfect pit stops from the team. We are five points behind the leader of the championship and it's all still to play for in the last race."
Andrea Piccini concluded, "We could have done with some more luck. My team mate had to pit earlier than planned and we remained practically without tyres as we had to do a long second stint with the second set of tyres and still had so much fuel on board. Everything will be decided in Zolder."
