A victorous race and the pole position for Matteo Bobbi in Magny-Cours.

After proving that he was a front line driver on the Spanish race track in Barcelona, Matteo Bobbi triumphs once again in Magny-Cours in the FIA GT championship.

After the free practice session on Friday, the BMS Scuderia Italia driver proved to be the leader of the qualifying session on Saturday. Under the pouring rain, Matteo was able to exploit his Ferrari 550 Maranello car and the Michelin tyres to the fullest. Thus, earning himself a well deserved pole position that kept him at a distance of one and half seconds from the Chrysler Viper GTS-R of Bouchut/Belluc.

On the dry track, Matteo was always in the leading positions during the
race and thanks to the Lister Storm's technical problem driven by
Campbell-Walter, Matteo ended the race victorously for the second
round in the FIA GT championship.

Matteo Bobbi:

"The qualifying session was fantastic: the track was wet due to the pouring rain. I was able to find the right rhythm and to drive the car to its limits. As a result, I managed to distance myself from my adversaries by a few seconds.

"At the start, the minor accident with the Chrysler Viper damaged my Ferrari and unfortunately we lost a position during the second race during the pit stop. When my team-mate Thomas Biagi handed the car over to me we had slotted into the 3rd position.

"With ten laps to go, I managed to overtake Piccini at the right moment. That is, just when Campbell-Walter's Lister starting having some technical problems and obligated the english driver to make a pit stop.

"I'm obviuosly very happy about the victory especially since I consider this track very favorable towards the Lister. however, I still have both feet on the ground. but I must admit this is a pretty good way to start off my first year in the FIA GT Championship."
