ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport at Interlagos in the points ranking for the 4th time at the GT1 World - Pastorelli/Schwager on position seven on Sunday
Friedersdorf/Sao Paulo (rol/ot) With one eye crying and the other one laughing the 9th season event of the FIA GT1 World Championship with the races 17 and 18 at Interlagos (Brazil) near Sao Paulo ended for the Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport from Friedersdorf (Saxony) this weekend (27th/28th of November). When Nicky Pastorelli (Netherlands/Italy) and German Dominik Schwager (Munich) in the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 RS-V with starting number 38 have been in the points ranking fort he 4th time being on position 7 at the one hour Championship Race on Sunday, the German Marc Basseng (Neusalza-Spremberg) and Christoph Bouchut (France) in the Lamborghini with starting number 37 have been just visitors like they have been one day before at the Qualifying Race. Bouchut didn't act to several flags he should have to at the time training and because of that the car #37 was excluded of the whole event.
But Schwager/Pastorelli in the Lamborghini #38 showed a great performance this weekend and caused a great result for the racing stable of Rene Munnich from Saxony with a great starting position two at the Qualifying Race. "That showed us that we can be fast as well on a track that is not really made for us", told Marc Basseng, that was only concentrated in his role of the team manager the whole weekend because he wasn't driving. After a bad start the Lambo #38 could go with the Pace in the Saturday race and has been on a good position five. "After a great pit stop we have been on position three but then we had to deal with fast reducing tyres", explained Basseng. "The temperatures of more than 30 degrees Celsius have been too much for the Lambo and his tyres".
Anyhow there has been the chance for a placing in the points ranking the next day, even if the weather hasn't been ideal with sun and high temperatures again. Starting from position five the German Dominik Schwager assigned the car to Nicky Pastorelli on position nine. After a great pit stop (Basseng: "We are getting better and better here") Pastorelli finished the race in the Muennich car on position seven. Winners of the race on Saturday have been Tomas Enge/Darren Turner (Czech/Great Britain) in the Aston Martin DBR9 and on Sunday the Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi/Xandi Negrao in the Maserati MC12.
The season finale of the GT1 World Championship 2010 is already scheduled for next weekend (3rd to 5th of December) at San Luis (Argentina) with the races 19 and 20.
